About Volkmann Architecture

After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1978, Philip Volkmann gained valuable experience working in residential and commercial design firms. In 1987, Philip started his own firm and began to plant the roots of his career.

As a Native Californian, Philip's architectural style combines his knowledge of classicism with influences of a modern aesthetic. His love of the art of architecture and his understanding of how we live, work and play, within the built environment, are critical to a unique, comfortable & cost-effective solution to all projects.

Whether creating a design from the ground up or reimagining an existing structure, all projects begin with a challenge. Analyzing the site, incorporating the client's needs and desires, while understanding budget constraints, then transforming all elements into a buildable reality… this is the art of architecture!
